New beginings

Here it is, that time of year again. What time of year? Today kicks off the ‘08 race travel season for me. I can think of no more appropriate way to start than with a delayed flight. Ahh the joys of travel.
Back to the new things; John and Shenny had their baby girl Abigail last week. So I am a new uncle. Cass and I have been tossing around what the role of the aunt and uncle is. We’ve come to the conclusion that we are there to spoil the kid and leave the serious parenting to her parents. By serious parenting we mean anything having to do with discipline, feeding, and personal hygene. We would hate to rob them of those true joys of parenting. Cass is trying to get some pics of the little A Bomb. Check her ‘corner’ for some pics soon.
Team Type 1 is wasting no time getting things started this new season with Moise’s top 10 on the stage today and Matt sitting 6th on GC. Some of us that are still stateside are headed to the wind tunnel for some testing on Monday. I will try to post some pictures.

Jones’ in the press

Not much to report on right now as our lives consist of sleep, eat, study, ride, repeat. There is a something very refreshing about being in one place and establishing a nice little routine for a while… it might get old after a couple of weeks, but we haven’t been stationary long enough to find out though.
The local, national, and international press has been kind to the Jones’ lately. If you have a minute click on the top link first to read about #1 and her summer trip to Nicaragua.

New Bling

We’re back in the Haven and the weather has been beautiful, above 50 everyday this week! Training has been going well and I am looking forward to our training camp at the end of February.
A nice little package arrived from Adidas yesterday. These shoes are easily the most comfortable that I’ve worn. Try on a pair next time you’re in a shop that carries them. You can’t tell in the picture, but the shoes definitely have a certain bling factor that is guaranteed to turn heads as you win sprints.

The trip…

After staying behind for the weekend to work in New Jersey, I had to catch up with the B-Day cruise. Here’s a picture of me flying into St. Thomas. Yep, I had a ‘private’ charter…. that’s how we roll at Jonez World.

As I mentioned before, the reason for our vacation wasn’t Thanksgiving,Formal night… very exciting,
The cruise was great. The line dancing, snorkling, sun tanning, zip line, hanging out with the in-laws, swimming, and tons of eating was just what we needed to get away and relax after a busy fall.

Now it is time to finish off strong. Three weeks of school and cross left, then home for Christmas!
Now it is time to prepare for the races in Portland and some of this:

We’re going on Vay-k!

This weekend’s races were forgetable, hopefully I can forget them soon.

Well, birthday season has evolved into birthday month which has led to birthday week. Some of you are probably asking youself, who’s birthday? For who!?!! Blasphemy! #1 of course. Who else would be able to convince her ENTIRE family that she needs and entire season and vacation to celebrate her birthday? So we’re off to the beach.

See you in a week.
